What is DIYpal?
DIYpal is a platform that connects DIY enthusiasts with professional tradespeople through video calls, offering instant, tailored guidance to make DIY projects efficient, safe, and successful.
How does DIYpal work?
- Download the DIYpal app
- From the homepage, select the trade you need guidance on
- Select ‘Pal Now’ to speak to a Pal right now
- Select ‘Pal Book’ to book ahead
- Speak with your Pal via video, voice or text
- Get tailored advice for your DIY project
How much does DIYpal cost?
DIYpal operates on a pay-per-minute pricing model. The first 5 minutes cost £1.50 per minute, and each minute thereafter costs £0.75 per minute.
Who are the 'Pals'
We call our expert tradespeople ‘Pals’. They are vetted, professional tradespeople, who work with DIYpal to give our customers expert guidance via the DIYpal app.
When can I download DIYpal?
The app will be available in late 2025. To see how it will work, view our prototype here
What happens if Pal Now is unavailable
We aim for our Pals to be available between 07:00 – 21:00 GMT. If a Pals are unavailable for Pal Now, you can always book the next available slot using Pal Book.
What happens if a Pal can't help me?
If a Pal is unable to assist with your query, they can release your call for another Pal to assist. You will not be charged for this.
When is DIYpal available?
DIYpal operates between 07:00 – 21:00 GMT, 7 days per week. Our Pals set thier own availability, and our aim is to offer both Pal Now and Pal Book throughout these times.
What payment methods are available?
Payment can be made using Apple Pay, Google Pay or Credit Card.
